Press Releases

Sydney, 22nd October 2009: Mint Wireless Limited (ASX: MNW) announced that leading portable consumer technology company, Mint Technology ("Mint"), has signed an exclusive distribution agreement with NASDAQ listed Microvision Inc. ("Microvision") to distribute the PicoP® accessory pocket projector to select Asia-Pacific countries.

The exclusive distribution agreement follows Mint's recently announced strategic partnership and supply agreement with global consumer electronics and wireless communications leader, Uniden Corporation ("Uniden"). Uniden has exclusively partnered with Mint to supply a range of innovative technology and wireless communication products to the Australian and New Zealand markets initially. As Microvision's Asia Pacific distribution channel partner, Mint will manage the supply, marketing and distribution of the PicoP® accessory pocket projector to support the delivery of a Uniden OEM product into the Australian and New Zealand markets. Mint has received an initial purchase order from Uniden for the supply of an OEM version of Microvision's pico projector.

Microvision's PicoP® accessory pocket projector uses revolutionary laser-based PicoP® display technology that delivers large, colorful, bright, and vivid images that are always in focus, regardless of projection distance. The projector is a plug-and-play device for people on-the-go who want to share multimedia applications such as movies, TV, photos and business presentations.

The device can be connected directly to a range of sources, including portable media players, laptops, notebooks and mobile phones. Depending on the ambient light, the projected images range in size from 12" to 150".

Uniden's Managing Director of Uniden Australia and New Zealand, Mr. Kunihisa Ishii, commented, "With Microvision's award winning pico projection technology, we can offer our customers the benefits and versatility of a unique and valuable application for mobile communication devices. This launch is part of Uniden's ongoing strategy to offer customers the most advanced and attractive communication and entertainment tools and devices available on the market. We look forward to introducing this exciting new product to our customers and working closely with our partners, Mint and Microvision."

Mint CEO, Alex Teoh said: "The recently completed distribution agreement with Microvision aligns Mint Technology with another market-leading brand in the portable consumer technology device space. Our existing relationship with a global brand like Uniden and our history of successfully partnering with leading international portable consumer technology manufacturers that deliver innovative consumer technology products formed a key driver behind the agreement,"

"We look forward to working with Uniden and Microvision to deliver the pico projector to consumers in the Australian and New Zealand markets. We expect the product to be available in selected Australian retailers and channel partners by November / December this year. The nature of the distribution agreement will mean we will continue to roll out the pocket projector in other select Asia-Pacific countries this year and well into 2010. We are currently in negotiations with several key partners throughout the region," Mr. Teoh said.

Alexander Tokman, CEO of Microvision said: "We are pleased that Uniden has selected Microvision's pico projection technology to spearhead the Company's new mobile communication device strategy to their customers. Uniden has been very successful delivering innovative consumer electronics devices to customers throughout the Asia-Pacific region which has been facilitated by the performance of their reputable supply partner, Mint Technology.

"The interest from the Mint and Uniden partnership in the Microvision pico projection technology demonstrates the appeal of this new emerging product category which is targeted for both consumer and business applications," Mr. Tokman said.
