Sydney, Australia 07/05/08 - Mint (Aust) Pty Ltd, the company behind the Mint Portable Payment Solution (PPS), has joined the BlackBerry Independent Software Vendor (ISV) Alliance Program.

As part of the BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program, Mint will gain access to support services from Research In Motion (RIM), as well as business and marketing resources.

RIM and Mint have already worked together on some significant customer wins, including securing an agreement with Jim's Group, one of the world's largest franchises and one of Australia's most famous and most trusted brands, to market a bundled offering of the Mint PPS on BlackBerry smartphones to the over 2,200 Jim's Group franchisees nationwide.

Mint Wireless' chief executive officer, Alex Teoh said the initiative provides Mint with additional support to extend the presence of its PPS in Australia and overseas:

"Many of our customers have chosen to use BlackBerry smartphones when using the Mint PPS, so there are obvious marketing and development synergies to pursue.

"Becoming a part of the BlackBerry ecosystem is another step towards strengthening Mint's presence in the market, and provides an opportunity to leverage the strong brand recognition that BlackBerry carries around the world," Mr. Teoh added.

"Mobile commerce is an area of significant interest for both businesses and consumers, and Mint has an interesting solution for the BlackBerry platform that is already attracting customers," said Jeff McDowell, vice president, Global Alliances at Research In Motion. "We are pleased to welcome Mint to the BlackBerry ISV Alliance Program."
