5th August 2008, Sydney - Mint Trading Pty Limited, subsidiary of listed portable technology company Mint Wireless Limited (ASX:MNW), today announced it has secured an order to supply Aiptek DV Cameras to major retailer, Kmart, starting from August 2008. The order follows Mint Trading's appointment as the exclusive distributor of the Aiptek range of digital video cameras, graphics tablets and digital photo frames in Australia and New Zealand.
The order covers the exclusive supply of Aiptek HD camcorders to Kmart stores nationwide. The Aiptek camcorders are the first 1080p high definition camcorders/cameras at an affordable price in the Australian market. They will target the mass-market that wants quality features but at a good price point.
Taiwan-based Aiptek ranks sixth in the United States market for sales of digital video cameras and has a significant global presence. Aiptek products are currently sold through well-known online and retail outlets such as Walmart, Carrefour and Amazon across Europe, North America and Asia.
Mint Wireless' CEO, Alex Teoh, said, "In today's consumer technology landscape, affordable quality reigns supreme. The features and competitive pricing of the Aiptek products will present well to Kmart's customers. We're looking forward to growing our relationship with Kmart over the coming months."
