Mint Wireless marketing director Nigel Turner, Aiptek chairman and CEO Peter Chen, Mint chairman Terry Cuthbertson and Mint Wireless CEO Andrew Teoh joined around fifty photographic retailers at the launch last night of the Aiptek, A-Data and Stash products by Mint Wireless.
Mint Wireless, which is a subsidiary of Mint Trading also announced that it had appointed Haldex as its main Australian distributor for the retail Photographic and Consumer Electronics markets.
Under a twelve month agreement, expected to contribute $2 million to Mint in additional revenue on an annualised basis, Haldex will distribute the full Mint Trading portfolio of Aiptek, A-Data and Stash products to retailers worldwide.
Haldex responsible for digital distribution
Haldex has been one of Australia's key distributors to photographic and electrical retailers for the past 50 years. Haldex will be responsible for distribution of digital video camcorders, multi-chargers, digital photo frames, graphics tablets, pocket projector and flash memory devices.
According to Teoh, "the distribution agreement with Haldex further cements our growing position in the Australian consumer electronics market and will provide siginificant additional revenue streams as the Mint suite of products gain greater market penetration."
Haldex national sales manager, Peter Cosh added, "the strong sales performance, and growing local and international market presence of Mint's Trading products, presents Haldex with an opportunity to build on our existing suite of strong consumer technology brands. WE can also leverage our established network of camera stores and mini labs, as well as reputable retailers around Australia such as Bing Lee, The Good Guys, Harvey Norman and Retravision."
World's smallest projector
One of the key attractions for retailers was the Aiptek V10 pocket projector which is so small it can fit into the pocket of a pair of jeans. It measures only 125x55x23mm (1cm longer than an iphone) and projects a range of multimedia such as movies, photos and games up to 50" in size from 1.8m away.
The V10 is aimed at the business and home user and will be available for RRP$649 in September.
